we spent a few days visiting our good friend Jade (my colleague in Nunavik) and visiting the sites: the Aquarium, a picnic on the Plains of Abraham, and a quick tour of Ile-d'Orleans. An awesome, awesome time. Plus Jade makes the best coffee in the world.

Cabane à Sucre!

celebrating a rite of spring here in the East- when the maple syrup returns home to the trees to spawn. basically nothing but an excuse to oink-out, literally. Jews and Muslims not in abundance here, as the food is either pig, or has been fried in pig fat and then, of course, marinated in maple syrup (and i say, why not?)

really i went only for the tire erable : maple syrup poured on clean(!) snow and then twirled around one end of a popsicle stick. No wonder so many Quebecers have teeth missing in action.
